To a better 2004
RCSW marks opening of 2004  with a successful goodwill
visit to RC Cebu-West in December 2003.
A visit which was temporarily marred by recent global events

RCSW paid a goodwill visit to RC Cebu-West from 11th to 14th December 2003. The delegation included President Wei Lien, PP Peter Kong & Director Gary Loh.

Upon arrival, the RCSW delegation was greeted at the airport by President Nonito and his greeting team. They were than taken to a "high-tea" at an Italian café ... where the meal was personally cooked by the owner-chef himself. This was followed almost immediately by a sumptuous dinner where President Wei Lien, on behalf of RCSW, presented each RC Cebu-West member present at the dinner - the Christmas CD "All Wrapped Up" by the a cappella group 'Vocaluptuous'. The significance of the CDs, i.e. to raise funds for the wheelchair vehicle for the Society for the Physically Disabled (SPD), was explained to them .

The next day, the RCSW delegation visited the Disability Centre and the Autistic School, where most of the computers, previously collected in Singapore, were donated to.

The RCSW team was also deeply honoured that the "RC Cebu-West Christmas Dinner" was organized and brought forward to coincide with their visit. At dinner, President Wei Lien addressed our sister club and suggested that we should actually be "Brother-Club", especially since both our clubs are some of the few without lady members. It was thus adopted by members present that henceforth, we be know as "Brother-Clubs".

Preliminary discussions, on behalf of RCSW, were also made with PE Wilton on the proposed joint project for next the RY involving a Day-Care Centre for "garbage-dump kids" from the ages 5 - 8 years. The mission is to get these kids out of the dump and give them pre-school education at the same time. The mission will also include counseling their parents on the the importance of basic education as well as health related matters for their children's future. This project proposal will be handed to PE KK Tan and his BOD for consideration.

Prior to departure, at the farewell lunch, RC Cebu-West presented RCSW with a donation of US$1,000.00 towards the SPD wheelchair vehicle fund. Many Thanks to them indeed !!

The RC Cebu-West Induction Ceremony and Dinner will be scheduled for 18th June 2004. RCSW members interested in joining the goodwill delegation are requested to keep this period free. The intended visit is scheduled for Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th, June 2004. Members may e-mail incoming Director Edward Lim for details.

To discuss and pass a proposed amendment to our Constitution and By-Laws

The proposed Constitution and By-Laws amendment is to:
