 ** Our Fireside Speaker **

Fellow Members,

The Evening of May 26 is Special.

Our Club’s Fireside Chat this year focuses on ‘The Elderly and the Changing Family Dynamic’.  We have invited Dr. Ng Li-Ling a psychiatrist and consultant to the Ministry of Health on issues of the elderly. Dr. Ng is also active is several community organizations which help the elderly. Her talk will touch on how elderly issues like loss of memory, health, dementia and so on can affect the family and how we can all cope better. Her talk will be followed by a discussion with you, the members.

Why You Should Attend
Many of us will have to, if not already, having to face such issues concerning the elderly because our parents may be under our care. On the other hand, some of us are approaching the ‘elderly’ phase of our lives.

In any case, it this year’s Fireside Chat will address our concerns and have your questions answered.

The Evening is also Special for another reason.

This year our Club’s Vocational Award recipient is The Singapore Civil Defence Force. We have decided on the SCDF because they have exemplified excellence in their  operations during the Nicoll Highway, and the tragic tsunami incidents. Besides the high profile operations, the members of the SCDF are also involved in countless responses to calls from the public for help. So this year we have decided to honour the organization as a whole. More when their Citation is read when we present the Vocational Award.

Yours and Your Spouses’ Presence are Needed
Your attendance with your spouse is needed to grace the occasion and to lend your support to the Award and to our invited Fireside speaker. If you know of a friend or two who may also benefit from the Chat, please invite them along.

Our Club Assembly is scheduled for 6.30pm and our Special events will begin right after.

We look forward to welcoming you , your spouse and your guests.

Best Wishes
