Ms Teo Ser Lee, Founder and Director of Protocol Academy

 

About the Speaker:

 

Ms Teo Ser Lee is the Founder and Director of Protocol Academy Pte Ltd, Singapore’s pioneer in etiquette and protocol services.  Ms Teo is trained and certified by The Protocol School of Washington where she specializes in Corporate Etiquette & International Protocol. She is also a qualified Colour & Make-up Artist, Personal Stylist and Image Consultant as well as an associate of APICSA (Association of Professional Image Consultants of South Africa).

 

She caters to mid and top level executives who wish to enhance their self-confidence, heighten their communication skills, outshine their competition and increase their bottom line.  Customised seminars are geared to educate, motivate and meet the needs of today’s busy executives.

 

Besides giving personalized trainings to top level executives of multi-national corporations, she also conducts trainings in the finer points of etiquette, protocol and projecting a professional image.  Some of her clients include Singapore Power, Singapore General Hospital, Carlson Marketing Group, Reed Exhibitions, Raffles Holdings, MediaCorp Radio, UOB Bank, DBS Bank, OCBC Bank, Bangkok Bank, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Genting Highland Resorts, SMU, NTU, NUS, ITE, Singapore Sports School, Singapore Press Holdings Ltd, Social Development Unit, Philips Electronics Singapore Pte Ltd, NTUC Income Insurance, International SOS Pte Ltd, Tetra Pak Asia, among many others.  She was also the trainer for Ms Singapore / Universe 2004 and Mr / Ms Teens 2004.

 

Ms Teo has a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from National University of Singapore and started her career as an external auditor with the then Ernst & Whinney.  She has more than 12 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, specializing in marketing and corporate communications.  She has held management position with Singapore Airlines, providing services to high valued customers and was also General Manager, Corporate Communications for Samsung Electronics, handling media relations, publicity and promotions for all the company’s products.

 

Amongst her achievements are 5 beauty titles;

Ms Singapore/International, Ms Singapore/World, Ms Singapore/Globe, 1st Runner-up of Ms Queen of the Midnight Sun (International pageant), Ms Friendship/Globe (International Pageant)

 

Ms Teo is also currently a part time drama artiste with MediaCorp Television and also a radio presenter with MediaCorp Radio.

1.  One of our sponsored Interact Clubs, Beatty Secondary School Interact Club, is organising a Blood Donation Day on 19th August.  We are looking for support of our fellow Rotarians as blood donors.  It would be good if we could get a group together to go there jointly.  Interested fellow Rotarians should contact either William Tan (william.tan@axa.com.sg) or myself (mibach@singnet.com.sg) as we would like to coordinate with the Interact Club.  The Interact Club is also looking for sponsorship in kind, such as biscuits, snacks, drinks and other give-aways as gifts to be given to the blood donors. – Rotarian Michael Ibach

4.  For the information of all members: Rtn Bernard Chia's daughter has just been installed as the President of the Rotaract Club of Singapore West.  The Interact Clubs of National Junior College and Millenia Institute will install their new Boards on the 6 August and 11 August respectively. CHIJ St. Theresa's Interact's new Board has already been installed.  Beatty Sec School's Interact Board was also installed on 14/7 – SNG Director Ronnie Neo.

 

What’s coming up:

 

1. 7 August 2006 – Board Meeting at VP Peter Kong’s residence.

 

2. 31 August 2006 – Operation Smile Implementation.  The joint project with Rotary Club of Makati West will be implemented in Cabanatuan City from Aug 29 to Sept 2.  A delegation from Rotary Club of Singapore West led by IPP Pieter will be there to lend moral support to the operations.  The delegation will leave Singapore (probably via Jetstar Asia) on 31st August.  The team will be met at the Airport and probably driven directly together with some RC Makati West Rotarians to Cabanatuan City which is about 2 hrs. 45 minutes from Makati.  There will be a fellowship hosted by Gov. Ted Briones of District 3770 on the evening of Sept. 1, Friday.  Other aspects of the trip, such as fellowship with the Rotarians from RCMW are still being finalized.  All those interested, particularly those whose PHFs contribution allows this project to be realised are to contact IPP Pieter by the end of this week.
