RE: DISTRICT 3310 GOVERNOR NOMINEE 2009-2010

 

I am pleased to announce that the District Nominating Committee has selected Rotarian PP Datuk MD Latip Bin Sarrugi of the Rotary Club of Kota Melaka as the District Governor Nominee for Rotary year 2009 –2010.

 

Altogether four Rotary Clubs had submitted their candidates for selection by the District Nominating Committee. We thank the candidates for making themselves available for the selection for District Governorship for the year 2009-10.

 

Subject to the Manual of Procedure, any club may propose any of the candidates not selected to be the challenging candidate for Governor Nominee 2009 – 2010.

 

The Club must file a resolution of the club adopted at a regular meeting to concur with any challenge. Such challenge and the club’s resolution duly complied must reach the District General Secretary’s office at 7500A Beach Road #16-321, The Plaza, Singapore 199591 by mail before noon Thursday 30 November 2006. The prescribed form is at the next page.

 

If no challenge is received by noon Thursday 30 November 2006, then Rotarian PP Datuk MD Latip Bin Sarrugi shall be declared the District 3310 Governor for 2009 – 2010.

 

Subject to due compliance of the above-mentioned deadline, the challenge has to be concurred by at least seven Rotary Clubs (excluding the challenging candidate’s own club) in District 3310 and such concurrence must reach the District General Secretary’s office at the above address by mail before noon Thursday 30 November 2006 for the challenge to be effective. In the event of non-compliance by the challenging candidate(s), then Rotarian PP Datuk MD Latip Bin Sarrugi shall be declared District 3310 Governor for 2009 – 2010. The same prescribed form is to be used.

 

The appointment of the District Governor is subject to the overriding approval of the Rotary International under the Manual of Procedure.

3. 21 December 2006

 

Dear Fellow Members,

 

The Community Service Committee will be hosting 50 children from the Haven Children Home on 21 December at 7.00pm at the Pines. This is a part of our annual Festive Cheer project to bring cheers to these neglected and abused children this Christmas.

 

We needs 50 Christmas presents for these children whose age ranges from 5 to 18 years.

 

As the Organising Chairman for this project, I am appealing for your generous contribution of 2 presents per member. The presents could be what your children may have got last Christmas but have never been used at all. Or if you intend to buy it, please keep the budget to $10 below per gift.

 

To help you decide on what to give, here is a breakdown the children in gender and age group.
