This month’s evening presentation is yet another topic in the medical field.  We will be hearing about Bunions and other related foot problems.  So all you ladies come and hear first hand from our guest speaker, Dr Yung, the dangers of wearing high heels and how to tackle the problems arising from this “fashion hazard”.

Bunions and other Foot Problems

Dr Yung Shing Wai, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

MBBS (Singapore), FRCS (Edinburgh), FAMS (Ortho)

 

Our speaker this week, Dr Yung is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in Foot Surgery. He works at MD Specialist Healthcare in the Paragon, and also operates out of Mount Elizabeth Hospital. In the foot, he manages such problems as bunions and other toe deformities, flat feet / high arch, fractures and other injuries, Achilles and other tendon problems, and chronic ankle sprains.

 

His other Specialty Interest is in Key Hole Surgery (Arthroscopy)particularly in the Shoulder, Ankles and the Knees. Arthroscopic Keyhole Surgery can be done for many shoulder conditions such as Rotator Cuff Tears, Dislocations, Biceps and other Cartilage tears, Frozen Shoulder.

Dear Fellow Members,

 

The Community Service Committee will be hosting 50 children from the Haven Children Home on 21 December at 7.00pm at the Pines. This is a part of our annual Festive Cheer project to bring cheers to these neglected and abused children this Christmas.

 

We needs 50 Christmas presents for these children whose age ranges from 5 to 18 years.

 

As the Organising Chairman for this project, I am appealing for your generous contribution of 2 presents per member. The presents could be what your children may have got last Christmas but have never been used at all. Or if you intend to buy it, please keep the budget to $10 below per gift.

 

To help you decide on what to give, here is a breakdown the children in gender and age group.
