This Thursday
Presentation of Plans(II)
by directors
At your
Lunch Meeting this Thursday
12:45pm, 19th
July 2007,
The Pines, 30
Stevens Road, Singapore 257840
Dear fellow
Rotarians,
In my campaign to be
"INCLUSIVE" for RY 2007-2008, I have decided that all members should serve
in committees (at least one). The reason for doing so is to ensure
participation and that your Directors will invite you to their meetings.
However, if for whatever reason you prefer to serve in another committee,
please let me know or let you Directors know. Swaps will be accommodated.
I think in the past when you are not involved, you only get to come to
lunch. That is not a satisfactory arrangement. My approach is to include you
so that you have a choice !! That is to either get involved or to opt out
(sounds a little like our Govt !).
I hope you understand
where I am coming from and accept the assignments. Your names will shortly
appear in the blue book which was delayed due to my insistance on having all
members assigned to committees.
From your President....
Yours in Rotary,
President Yeo Chuen Eng

4. Plans presented during the last meeting on 12th July:
In case some of you were
not present for last week’s meeting, here are some of plans presented by
some directors
1. Club Service
(Club Administration) Plan
Director Lai Bou Leong
The
Rotary Year 2007/2008 represents a transitional year as the Club moves
closer to embracing the Club Leadership Plan (CLP), a recommended
administrative structure for Rotary Clubs. The CLP calls for the
appointment of five standing committees in the areas of Membership,
Club Public Relations, Club Administration, Service
Projects and The Rotary Foundation. In our current Club
Structure, the first two functions already form part of the Club Service
Committee, whereas Rotary Foundation is headed by a separate Chairperson.
Sub-Committees
PP
Leong How has agreed to head the Membership sub-committee and PP Kay Hui
likewise, will be heading the PR sub-committee. I understand that these same
individuals have been separately identified by President Chuen Eng for the
corresponding positions under the CLP. This would make the adoption of the
CLP even smoother.
The
other major tasks of the Committee will be filled and assigned when the
Committee meets for the first time.
